Turning Desert Sand in Construction Sand

The world is running out of Sand

Concrete is made to 75% of Sand, 1 mile of highway uses 15,000 Tons of Sand and our thirst for artificial islands is inextinguible. 

Unfortunately Desert Sand, rounded by the wind, is not suitable for construction nor artificial islands and with a growing population & urbanization our need for Sand is increasing exponentially. 

We are thus depleting very quickly our reserve of land or marine usable sand and it is paradoxical that the UAE sitting on the biggest desert need to import Australian Sand.

At the same time, we are facing a huge environmental problem as Sand extraction from Sea destroys beaches, kills maritime life and consumes a lot of fresh water for desalination.

The Blackramel Solution

We patented in 35+ countries a solution to transform Desert Sand into Construction Sand. 

We patented the result and fabrication method to melt and crush Desert Sand and successfully making it suitable for Construction purposes. 

We imagined different production solutions from solar concentrator to use of cheap solar electricity to reach a production price of 13$/T with todays Sand price varying from 25 US$/T f to 45 US$/T in Europe and 25 US$/T in the UAE.

A Four steps process

Step One: Company creation, Patent filing, laboratory test - Done

Step Two: Building first in site prototype - Current 

Step Three: Licence contract with Sand producer and building the first production plan

Step Four: Extension to 40 production plans to capture 1% of the Sand production in the world
